THE COMPANY Eustralis is a privately-owned start-up company involved in the development of novel and innovative life-saving therapies designed to manage acute injuries and life-threatening inflammatory responses. Our development programs serve a number of therapeutic areas with high unmet medical needs and considerable market potential. In particular, our lead programs include an effective pharmacological therapy for managing raised intracranial pressure following events such as a head injury, as well as an agent for decreasing the risk of haemorrhage associated with the use of thrombolytic agents following a stroke. Eustralis was founded in 2005 to facilitate the commercialization of therapies targeting edema development following injury to the central nervous system. In the process of forming the company, University based experts in brain injury from Australia, initiated a collaboration with experts in drug development and commercialization based in Basel in Switzerland, thus creating a link between Australian academic research and European pharmaceutical industry. With the offices for pharmaceutical development and commercialization located in Basel, Switzerland and the offices for basic research located in Adelaide, Australia, Eustralis Pharmaceuticals has created a strategy for success by linking European experience with Australian innovative power. Eustralis’ leading products in development are two compounds licensed from Hoffmann-La Roche in Basel, Switzerland. Eustralis has strong preclinical data to support the development of these compounds, EU-C-001 and EU-C-002, in the control of Intracranial Pressure (ICP) following a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and the prevention of reperfusion Injury following a Stroke, respectively.
